North Cyprus court jailed Filipino woman for 45 days for stealing employers belongings

A Filipino woman who works as a house keeper has been arrested by the TRNC police in Girne for stealing her employers belongings worth 3,600TL.

According to report, the woman identified as Robelisa Dao Asen Sallaya, 30 and works as a housekeeper at a residence in Girne, reportedly stole her employers belongings such as jewelry, clothes, shoes, glasses worth 3,600 TL.

Robinisa who worked at the residence from January 1 to March, 1, 2018, is said to have stolen various apparel, sunglasses, silver jewelry worth a total of 2,784 TL and a diamond ring worth 800TL.

She was taken to court on Monday on charges of stealing.

The accused accepted the crime and gave voluntary testimony in court.

Her employer has reportedly cancelled her work permit and she no longer has a legal status in the country.

Following the completion of investigation, the suspect was sentenced to 45 days in prison as an unconstitutional prisoner while her trial continues.
