Cyprus Talks: Political parties discuss ways to achieve productive talks on Cyprus issue

Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot political parties met on Wednesday in one of their regular meeting at the Ledra Palace Hotel in the UN-controlled buffer zone in Nicosia to discuss possible arrangements for results-oriented negotiations on the Cyprus issue.  

A joint communique by parties from both side says 

the leaders and the representatives of Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot political parties met today for their regular meeting at the Ledra Palace, and expressed opinions on the issue proposed by the hosting party, the National Unity Party/UBP “After the collapse of Crans Montana meeting, what kind of arrangements should be made in order to achieve results-oriented final negotiations?.
The political parties met and exchanged views on the topic raised by UBP, it adds.

The next regular meeting of the leaders and the representatives of the political parties will be held on 28 March 2018 at the Ledra Palace.

The meetings are held at the initiative of the Embassy of Slovakia in Nicosia.

Cyprus has been divided since 1974, when Turkey intervened following which the country was divided into north and south. 

Ever since, efforts to reunify the island have failed.
