43 prisoners go on hunger strike at Lefkosa Central Prison

43 prisoners has embarked on hunger strike at the Central Prison in Lefkosa in protest demanding their unconditional release from detention.

Olomoinfo Blog noted that the hunger strike started on Wednesday morning by 29 prisoner whose application for their unconditional release from detention made to the Parole Board was denied.

On Thursday morning, the number of prisoners on hunger strike had increase to 43.
