22-year-old woman in hospital after pressure cooker explodes in her face in Lefkosa

A 22-year-old woman got her face burnt on Monday when she tried to open the cover of a pressure cooker in Yeniceköy, Lefkosa.

The victim, Aysel Saldun, 22 who was cooking at the time of the incident had tried to open the lid of the pressure cooker when it exploded and was seriously injured by the explosion from the cooker sustaining burns on several parts of the body.

Her face arms, neck and various parts of her body were affected.

The incident reportedly happened at about 5:00pm on Monday reports Turkish Cypriot daily, Kibris.

Police and health team quickly intervened and took her to the Lefkosa Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital for treatment.
