1 killed, another injured in accident in Lefkosa

One person has lost his life and another injured in an accident that happened at the Metehan-Alayköy main road in Lefkosa in the early hours of Monday morning.

Police say the accident happened at about 3:40am in the morning along Metehan-Alayköy main road in Lefkosa.

According to report, Oguzhan Dayan, 23 lost his life in the accident while another passenger in the car identified as Tolgahan Ak, 24 sustained a minor injury.

The driver of the vehicle is said to have hit a roadside barrier separating the roads due to carelessness as he approaches a roundabout.

The driver Oğuzhan Dayan lost his life at the accident site.

Tolgahan Ak, a passenger in the vehicle sustained a minor injury and was taken to a Lefkosa hospital.

With the accident, the number of road casualties in 2018 has risen to 7.
