Turkish man falls to his death in an uncompleted building in Lefkosa
A Turkish citizen on Wednesday fall to his death in a building under construction in Küçük Kaymaklı, an incident that raises concern over the increasing mortality rate associated with building sites in the TRNC.
According to information released by the police, the incident happened at about 11:00 am on Wednesday.
The victim identified as Doğan Turan, 41 was seriously injured after falling into a ventilation space of about 15 meters above the ground from the fifth floor of an apartment under construction.
He was rushed to the Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital Intensive Care Service but lost his life at 17:00 in the evening despite medical intervention.
He is said to have come to North Cyprus few weeks ago in search of a job and went to the construction site in Küçük Kaymaklı with his friend.
With his death, causalities related to job places in the TRNC has increased to 5 since the beginning of 2018.
