TRNC to host 1st stage of World Paragliding Cup

The Turkish Republic of North Cyprus Air Sports Federation will be hosting the first stage of Paragliding World Cup beginning on Thursday February 15 – Sunday February 18.

The international organisation event will be held in Tatlısu with the opening procession billed to hold in Kyrenia on Thursday.

The competition was announced by the World Air Sports Federation’s calendar, and all participating athletes will be scored on their performance.

A total of 114 athletes from 20 countries including Albania, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, South Korea, Kosovo, Malaysia, the Netherlands, the TRNC, Romania, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey and the United Kingdom (England), will participate in the competition.

The competition will involve international referees, while THK observers will also take part.

TRNC Air Sports Federation President Zeki Ziya said that the Paragliding World Cup will have six legs, the first of which will be held in the TRNC.
