Ronald Koeman named Netherlands manager

Former Everton manager, Ronald Koeman has been appointed as coach of the Netherlands national team until the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The 54-year-old former international defender is the seventh coach in eight years for the Dutch team, who were runners-up at the 2010 World Cup and finished third in Brazil four years later but failed to qualify for the 2018 finals in Russia.

He replaces Dick Advocaat who resigned after failing to guide the Netherlands to the 2018 World Cup.

Koeman, who has been out of work since being sacked by Everton in October, will take charge for the first time against England on 23 March.
