President NANS Turkish Zone condemns the killing of 28-year-old Nigerian student in North Cyprus, demands justice
The president of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, Turkish Zone, Comrade Evidence Akhayere has condemned in strong terms the killing of a 28 year-old Nigerian student in Famagusta on Wednesday.
The president in a Facebook post on Thursday, described the act as evil and called on the police of the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus, the management of Eastern Mediterranean University and all other parties involved to do everything
possible to make sure the perpetrator are brought to
justice.
He also noted that Nigerians are peace loving people who love to live in peace. He described the deceased as a brilliant, hardworking and easy
going person who is well loved by friends.
Kennedy Taomwabwa Dede, 28, a student at the Eastern Mediterranean University in Magusa was kidnapped by car and beaten by 7 people on Monday, January, 29 and
then taken to the Çanakkale lake where he was killed.
His lifeless body was discovered at the lake on Tuesday evening at about 4:45pm by a local.
Three suspects including a female were subsequently arrested in connection with the killing and charged to court for murder.
Kennedy, a student of architecture was once an athlete for the university.
