One injured in accident along Famagusta - Lefkosa highway

One person has been seriously injured in an accident along the Famagusta - Lefkosa high way on Monday evening after a careless driver reportedly lost control of the steering.

According to police report, the accident happened at about 5:pm along the Famagusta - Lefkosa main road.

One of those involved in the accident identified as, Kadir Demirel reportedly lost control of the vehicle as he approaches the Turuncli junction as he drives carelessly towards Lefkosa when he left his lane into another lane hitting an oncoming car in the process.

The driver of the other car identified as Huseyin Menekşeli, 33, was reportdly trapped in his car in the process before he was rescued.

He was then taken to the state hospital in Lefkosa for treatment on injury he sustained.His car was badly damaged in the accident.
