Man falls from uncompleted building in Lapta, seriously injured

A 41-year-old Turkish Cypriots has been seriously wounded after falling from the second floor of an uncompleted building in Lapta on Monday.

The victim identified as Selim Alp is the second person in the space of one week to be involved in a work place accident.

The incident reportedly happened at about 11:30 am this morning at a construction site at Mehmet Büyükoğlu Street in Lapta.

The victim is said to have fallen from a stairwell 6.2 meter high in the second floor of the building and landed on the concrete floor sustaining serious injury.

He was taken to the Lefkosa state Hospital for treatment.
