#JusticeForKennedy - Suspect say life under threat as court order all suspects to remain in detention for another 7 days

The Famagusta court again on Friday ordered the 7-gang-member suspects accused of murdering 28-year-old Nigerian student, Kennedy Taomwabwa Dede to remain in detention for another 7 seven days.

All seven suspects, Ozan Korkurt, 18, Zekeriya Founder, 22, Burcu Çelik, 16, Onur Körkurt, 21, Simge Dağdur, 28, Aydan Sel and Nidai Şanlı, 28 were all brought to court today under heavy security.

Lawyer to one of the suspects told the court that his client, Nidai Sanli is being threatened to death by other suspects in prison at the Gazimagusa Police Department and prayed the court to allow his client to be detained in another police station.

The prosecutor objected to this demand because of the possibility that the suspect might escape from police detention with the aid of other parties so Sanli will continue to stay at the Famagusta Police Department.

Kennedy's murder shook the entire North Cyprus causing tension and unrest among international students while series of protests by the Nigerian community in North Cyprus demanding justice for Kennedy has been held in various parts of the country.

Following the incident, 7 suspects connected with the murder were arrested and charged to court for murder, human abduction and serious assault.
