#JusticeForKennedy - Murder suspects to remain in prison for another week

All seven gang suspects arrested in connection with the kidnapping, beating and murder of Nigerian student, Kennedy Taomwabwa Dede have been ordered by a Famagusta court to remain in police custody for another one week.  

The seven suspects namely; Ozan Korkurt, 18, Zekeriya Founder, 22, Burcu Çelik, 16, Onur Körkurt, 21, Simge Dağdur, 28, Aydan Sel and Nidai Şanlı, 28 who had been in police detention since last week were brought to court on Friday morning under heavy security. 

Kennedy Taomwabwa Dede, 28 an Architecture student at the Eastern Mediterranean University in Magusa was kidnapped by the 7 suspects from his home in Magusa on Monday, January, 29 and then taken to the Çanakkale lake in the outskirt of the city where he was seriously beaten and killed. He was left half naked in the Çanakkale Pond with half his body in the lake and the other half outside.

An autopsy report revealed that he died of internal injury to the brain and lungs due to serious beating.

Friends and relatives of Kennedy were in court to demand justice for the brutal killing.

Relatives of the suspects who were in court too could not hold their tears as they were taken away to prison. One of the suspect is said to have allegedly fainted.

An initial police investigation said that Kennedy was killed over 1000TL debts.
