Jealous Turkish Cypriot woman attack boyfriend for speaking with other women

A Turkish Cypriot woman has been arrested for injuring her boyfriend of three years in a violent attack on Thursday last week in Girne.

Hatice Taşer, reportedly attacked her boyfriend violently for speaking with other women. She is said to have hit her boyfriend in his stomach, head and various parts of the body hurting him in the process.

The incident between the two lovers happened on Thursday last week at about 5:45pm at raddelerinde Şehit Süleyman Uluçamgil Street.

She was arrested after the incident and charged to a Girne court on Friday where she will be tried for for "intentional damage and serious assault".

The court judge ordered that the woman be prohibited from traveling abroad. Her identity cards and travel documents will be confiscated and she is expected to report at least once a week to the nearest police. 

A TRNC citizen must stand as a surety with the sum of 10 thousand Turkish Lira for her to be released.
