Fire outbreak in Gonyeli apartment

There was fear and panic on Monday night after fire broke out at an apartment in the top floor of a four-storey building in Gonyeli.

The fire on the apartment belonging to Kiymet Karaböcek at Dumanlı Street reportedly started at about 11:30 pm on Monday.

According to report by Turkish Cypriot daily, Kibris Gazetti, the Lefkosa Fire Service quickly intervened and helped controlled the fire as it did not affect other apartments in the building.

Several items in the apartment were damaged by the fire.
