European University of Lefke celebrates Gambia Independence Day

The European University of Lefke, LAU, North Cyprus during the week held series of events to mark the "Gambia Independence Day"

The events organized by the Lefke European University (LAU) External Relations Directorate and the International Student Club were held during the 2017-2018 academic year Spring Semester orientation week. 

The event held at the LAÜ Cinema Hall was attended by staffs of LAÜ, Student Dean and Foreign Relations Directorate.  

The event began with the singing of the Gambia national anthem, the meaning and significance of the day.  

Within the scope of the festivities, a video showing Gambia's founding date, cultural and natural features was displayed.

The second part of the event continued with a traditional dance show at the LAU Fun Club accompanied by songs from Gambia students.  

Participants at the event were treated to Gambia local food and drinks. A cake was also presented at the event.
