Dust to remain in the atmosphere in Cyprus till Monday
If you had noticed the dust particles in the atmosphere in the last three days, it will interest you to know that it is not going away anytime soon.
The Cyprus Meteorology Agency has announced that the dust affecting Cyprus will persist until Monday and everyone is advised to take necessary precautions especially the vulnerable.
According to the Met office, there will also be a rise in dust particles in the atmosphere on Saturday evening and Sunday morning but the phenomenon is expected to dissipate with the start of the new week.
The average dust levels in a day are 50 μg/m3 however, some areas have up to and over 100 μg/m3.
The dust is coming from the west but is high in the atmosphere due to strong winds that keep it there.
