Couple with 13 sons are pregnant and hopeful for a girl ss 14th
This woman has already given birth to 13 boys in a row but she and her husband
are trying their luck at a 14th child, hoping this time it will be a
girl.
As much as she and her husband would love some pink around the house, the Michigan couple say they aren’t too worried about gender as they expect a 14th child in April but waiting until birth to learn the sex.
Jay and Kateri Schwandt say adding another child to their large family won’t be too big of a logistic change or financial burden, WOOD-TV reported.
Kateri, 42, became a mom for the first time 25 years ago. Her youngest is now two years old and she said she’s used to large families, as one of 14 children herself.
Like with their last few children, the couple has decided against learning the baby’s sex before the birth.
The father, Jay, told WOOD-TV he hopes it's a girl but isn't too sure he'll ever have a daughter at this point as this will likely be their last child.
The chances of having 13 sons is 1 in a whopping 8,192, but chances of having a 14th son is ever more staggering at 1 in 16,384, according to data gathered by Wolframalpha.
But Kateri Schwandt said the couple also thought their 13th baby would be their last. The couple said it’s hard to imagine their home without a baby in it.

If you have three, it’s the same as having 10 at this point, if you ask me,” Kateri Schwandt said.
It’s just more chaos, more noise. It’s nothing we’re not used to at this point.

I would love to have a girl, but I just don’t think it’s in the cards, Jay Schwandt said.

It just feels like this is going to be it, and we’re going to enjoy every second of it,” Jay Schwandt said.
