Attention! Unhealthy meats in the market!

The attention of the general Cyprus public has been drawn to the presence of unhealthy meats in the market.

According to information received, some of the meat was imported from England to south Cyprus while some have reportedly entered the market and consumed.

According to Greek Cypriot daily, Fileleftheros, Greek Veterinary Office had seized 2,000 kilos of meat on the information provided by the EU's competent bodies.

The daily said only 870 kilos of meat were distributed to a chain of well-known bars and restaurants operating in Southern Cyprus.

It also reported that chains of bars and restaurants did not use the meat in their possession in the wake of the discovery.

A report also said that Southern Cyprus Veterinary Department in a statement by it's director, stated that consumers are not in any kind of danger in terms of their health due to the consumption of meat.
