Paper Round: No Eden Hazard deal with Manchester City - even for a record fee

It's Wednesday's Paper Round and it's transfer deadline day. The papers are reporting that Chelsea say there is not enough money in Manchester to force a deal for Eden Hazard during the January transfer window.

Not for all the money in Manchester
With deadline day the only story in town, Wednesday’s papers are back on the Eden Hazard rumour mill. The Telegraph reports that the Chelsea forward, recently linked to a move to Manchester City for a world-record fee, would be denied a move to the league leaders regardless of price.

Our View: Chelsea is not like Arsenal who don't care about strengthening a direct rival. Conte have made it clear before that no one should allow City get all the best players available and he is doing just so by not allowing Hazard move to City not even for a record fee. Bold.

Conte’s relationship with Hazard ‘broken’

Eden Hazard's relationship with Antonio Conte is said to have soured
Our view: Is there any true in this? Hazard has always backed the manager to succeed while Conte on his part has often heaped praises on his star player. But the truth is that come the end of the season, Conte might walk away from Chelsea whether or not he is sacked.

Mahr money Mahr problems
Leicester City midfielder Riyad Mahrez’s reported transfer request features prominently on Wednesday’s back pages, with Manchester City lined up as his likely destination. Pep Guardiola has apparently targeted the 26-year-old with Leroy Sane expected to miss six to seven weeks due to injury and a busy Champions League window ahead. According to Wednesday’s papers, City are likely to pay somewhere between £50-100 million for him.

Our view: Mahrez has long desired to leave Leicester City and if City are calling on him to make a move to Manchester, then it's one big opportunity he wouldn't want to miss owing the fact that he has longed wished to play for a top team. Only money will talk..

All change at The Emirates?
Tuesday's reports of a "transfer merry-go-round" continue into Wednesday as it was rumoured that Arsenal's dream signing of 28-year-old Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is in jeopardy, having failed to negotiate a price for Olivier Giroud with Chelsea. The Dortmund forward was said to be in London on Tuesday but the tabloids couldn't quite seem to agree if the deal had been done or not, with some reporting a fee of £18m for Giroud had been agreed, while others reported Arsenal would not budge on their valuation of £20m for the Frenchman.

Our view: Only time will tell if Arsenal get their man or not. Watch out!
