2018 Will be tremendous for the United States- Trump

US President, Donald Trump has promised 2018 will be a "tremendous year" as he hosted a lavish New Year's party at his resort in Florida.

The US President appeared in black tie alongside First Lady Melania and son Barron.

He spoke briefly to reporters outside saying: "We are going to have a tremendous year.

Stock market I think is going to continue to go up, companies are going to continue to come into the country.

 He dismissed breaking reports from North Korea of Kim Jong Un making fresh nuclear threats.

We'll see, we'll see," Trump said.

Attendees at the event included Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin accompanied by his wife, Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner, Eric Trumo and his wife Lara and also Donald Trump Jr. and his eldest son, Don III.
