Fashion Today: How to look smart on New Years Eve
New Year’s Outfits
Heading into the New Year in style is a necessity. You should start
the year as you mean to go on... so pulling out your favourite suit or
scouring the shops for something new to wear should definitely be on the
January to-do list.
So along with present shopping, hitting the pub as much as possible and
seeing those long lost relatives you only seem to see at Christmas, you
need to think about what you’re going to wear on New Years Eve. To help
will all the hassle, we’ve got some outfits and advice for you to take
on board so you can enjoy the festivities without stressing about
getting a whole new outfit.
The Smart Option
If you need inspiration, think Leonardo DiCaprio in The Great Gatsby, or James Bond’s Casino Royale tux. Both looking smooth AF and ready to take on whatever life throws at them – not that you’ll be wiping out the Bond moves at a New Years party, but you never know.
If you’re not willing or ready to go full on Tux, a black suit and crisp white shirt will look equally as smart. Make sure your shoes are shinned and all scuff marks have been polished away. There’s nothing worse than a spot on suit and awful, dirty shoes.
New Year’s Eve Casual Outfits
The freedom of choice is one of the best things about New Year’s Eve.
Whether you prefer spending the evening down the pub with a few close
friends over going to a swanky party, it’s completely up to you.
However, this does change the type of outfit you’ll be wearing. So if you’re planning on entering the New Year in the comfort of your local pub, you’ll want to keep things fairly casual but as it’s a bigger occasion than your standard pub night out, you may as well go a little smarter.
A casual pair of trousers are a good option, not too smart and not too casual. Wear with a simple T-shirt and jumper and you’ll have a casual look that’s ideal for the New Year.
Although keeping things casual is important, you also have to take the weather into account. Layering your outfit with a thick shearling jacket or overcoat is perfect for a cold New Year’s Eve out in town. You don’t want to be walking home in the freezing conditions without a jacket. Plus, a jacket can really make your outfit, so think of it as a style staple.
