Barack Obama voted America’s most admired man as Donald Trump comes second
America's most admired man has been announced in a new Gallup poll
and Donald Trump is not going to be happy after knowing who the winner is both in the male and female category.
Former US President Barack Obama has been named America’s “most admired man” for the 10th year in a row. Deserved!
The Gallup’s December poll found that 17 per cent of respondents named Obama the man they admired most, a dip from 22 per cent, who said the same last year.
Democratic presidential candidate, Hillary
Clinton has been named the country’s most admired woman for the 16th
year in a row, and taken the top spot 22 times total, which Gallup said
was more than anyone else — man or woman.
Not winning was President Donald Trump, who took second place with 14 per cent of respondents citing him when asked, open-ended, to name the man they admired most.
The two US presidents were the only ones to garner support into double figures.
Pope
Francis took third place with three per cent of respondents, and the
rest of the top dozen men included politicians, religious figures and
billionaires.
Clinton’s 16th consecutive year topping the most admired women’s poll showed her support dip this time from 12 per cent to nine per cent of respondents.
Former
first lady Michelle Obama came in second with seven per cent of
respondents, and the third place finisher at four per cent support was
Oprah Winfrey.
Melania Trump came in eighth, Kate Middleton at 1oth and Beyonce at 11th.
Obama’s 10th year as most admired man makes him second only to former President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
Gallup said sitting presidents usually win the most admired spot, and that Obama was the first former president to top the list since Eisenhower.
