Woman who killed Syrian student in an accident to remain in prison for three months
The Turkish Cypriot woman who hit and killed a Syrian student two weeks
ago has been ordered to remain in prison for three months by a Lefkosa court.
Gizem Galipoğlular, 27 appeared in court on Wednesday after spending five days in police detention.
Meanwhile, she will face trial while in prison.
She allegedly violated traffic light on Friday October 20 at the Yenişehir region and then hit four pedestrian, killing one of them on the spot and injuring three others.
The deceased, Abdul Rahman Murad, 27 who schools and lives in Lefkosa was taking a walk with his friends when the unfortunate incident happened.
