Turkish Cypriot man sentenced to 28 years imprisonment by a Lefkosa court for raping his teenage daughter

A 43-year-old Turkish Cypriot man has been sentenced to 28 years imprisonment by a Lefkosa court for harassing and sexually assaulting his teenage daughter in the space of two years.

According to report, the father began harassing his daughter' when she was 10 and continued raping her until she was 12 years old. 

The 43-year-old father identified only as OY was charged with "Sexual Assault and Rape of Child Under 16" and "Violence to Use Violence" by a Lefkosa High Criminal Court, an offense the accused did not accept but later accepted all charges after his daughter testified against him in court and told of the terrible rage she had lived in.

According to the Lefkosa Heavy Penal Court Delegation Chairman Melek Esendağlı, the accused had continued to commit the criminal acts against his own daughter without interruption between 2012 and 2017.
 

Reading the case on Wednesday November, 8, Melek Esendağli, said the 16-year-old girl has been subjected to sexual assault and unethical behavior at the age of 10 by her father, the defendant, adding that he has been harassing his daughter at 10 until she was 12 without interruption.
 
The defendant was sentenced to 14 years for the crime of "sexual infringement contrary to the nature to the child under 13 years", 6 years for for the crime of "sexual exploitation of the child", 4 years for the crime of "sexual assault of the child", and two years 2 years of imprisonment for the "child sexual harassment" caution.
 
Also he was found guilty of a crime of public misconduct, for the injury and burnt on her hands when she was taken to the protection of the state.
 
A Psychiatric report on the child showed that she lost confidence, hopeless, self-harm tendency and depressed after being exposed to trauma by his father, who was responsible for his care.

It is heartbreaking to hear a 10-year-old child, being harassed by his father.
