Several major routes in Lefkosa to be closed to traffic today due to rally to mark the 34 anniversary of the TRNC
Several major roads in Lefkosa will be closed to traffic on Tuesday afternoon due to a march walk and festivities marking the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the founding of the the Turkish Republic of
Northern Cyprus.
According to a statement released by the General Directorate of Police; the march will hold around the Mehmet Akif Caddesi (Dereboyu) area in Lefkoşa at 5:00pm today, through Dereboyu Avenue in front of Pronto Circle and Osman Paşa Caddesi, followed by Bedrettin Demirel Caddesi and Abdi Ipekci Caddesi and return to the Kemal Asik Caddesi from the Prime and Mobilization Branches and finish at the bus terminal.
- Since the people taking part in the march will gather at the Mehmet Akif Caddesi, the rally route will be closed to traffic flow from the Citröen Lights junction on Mehmet Akif Caddesi beginning from 4:00 when the event will start.
- Also, to the ceremony program to be held on Fazıl Küçük Boulevard; The traffic flow between Gönyeli Çemberi and Altinbas Petrol Station will be closed to traffic until tomorrow (Wednesday November 15, 2017) from 5:30 am until the end of the ceremony.
- In order not to obstruct the traffic flow, it is very important that the drivers do not park on the specified routes and also they must obey the traffic signs and markers.
