NSU-CIU president, Ife Wole-Osho withdraws from re-election bid
In an official statement released today, Mr Ifeoluwa Wole-Osho said he pulled out of the race to be reelected as NSU-CIU president due to urgent family issues that needed to be resolved and would have distracted him from serving.
After over 1 year since I have been elected to office, the personal loss of the last month, for the first time, severed the necessary harmony between the needs of the union and of my family, he said in a letter made available to Olomoinfo Blog.
As this harmony is required to serve, its absence requires I leave, he added.
The president also praised his only registered opponent, Mr. HABEEB FASASI who served admirably under him as Academic Director saying he would be a fine successor and will do a great job as President .
With the sudden withdrawal of the Mr. IFEOLUWA WOLE-OSHO it ultimately means that Mr. HABEEB FASASI is the only other student to register his name to contest for president of the Nigerian Student Union - CIU.
Also, reports reaching us has it that a faction of the Nigerian students society in CIU are coming up with an alternative candidate, and if that is true, it will be that the candidate is entering the election process without registering for the election during the official period of candidate registration and whether this will be accepted by the university management is still anybody's guess.
Election date is Tomorrow Thursday, November 16th 2017 between 8am - 5pm
