North Cyprus police arrest another suspect in connection with drug

Another person has been arrested by the North Cyprus police in connection with 50 grams of banned drug substance that was seized in an operation in Haspolat last week.

Last week, police said they have arrested at least five people in Haspolat and Famagusta for various drugs offenses. 

Police said they seized 14 packages of banned substances in the operation while two suspects arrested were charged with "possession of illegal drug."

Police said the new suspect who is also a student was arrested on suspicion that he was linked to those who were previously arrested. 

The suspect was arraigned before a Lefkosa court on Sunday

The suspect will remain in police custody for one day while police continue to investigate the alleged crime.
