Democrats considered replacing Clinton with Bidenas the party's presidential nominee
Former US Democratic National Committee Interim Chairwoman Donna Brazile reportedly considered replacing Hillary Clinton as the
party's 2016 presidential nominee with then-Vice President Joe Biden after she fainted in New York City, according to her new memoir.
Brazile wrote that she considered using her powers as the party's head to remove Clinton and running mate U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Virginia, after the former secretary of state's high-profile fainting spell while leaving a 9/11 memorial service in New York City, the Washington Post reported.
According to her, she considered various combinations to replace Clinton and Kaine before deciding that Biden and New Jersey Sen. Corey Booker would have the best shot of winning over working class voters and defeating then-GOP nominee Donald Trump.
Ultimately, the DNC head says she thought of Clinton and all the women in the country who were so proud and excited about her and decided she "could not do this to them".
Clinton who appeared to stumble as she abruptly left the September 2016 event later revealed she was suffering from pneumonia adding that she "didn't think it was going to be that big of a deal."
Brazile says the larger issue was that her campaign was "anemic" and had taken on "the odour of failure".
The revelation is the latest to come out of Brazile's new book: "Hacks: The Inside Story of the Break-ins and Breakdowns That Put Donald Trump in the White House," which will be released Tuesday.

Again and again I thought about Joe Biden, Brazile wrote. No matter my doubts and my fears about the election and Hillary as a candidate, I could not make good on that threat to replace her.
