Cyprus Talks: Greek Cypriot side will not accept any solution that will collapse the next day - Anastasiades

The Greek Cypriot side will not accept any solution that will collapse the day after an agreement is reached, said, Cyprus President, Nicos Anastasiades adding that no one wants that and no one wants to live in uncertainty.

Anastasiades made the remarks on Sunday,while addressing a memorial service in the community of Pachna, in the Limassol district, reports, Greek Cypriot daily, CyprusMail.

According to Anastasiades, the Greek Cyprus government’s goal was to find a solution that would meet the expectations and concerns of Greek Cypriots.

We strive to achieve a solution that will create the conditions allowing all citizens to live in security, prosperity, to have peaceful coexistence and mutual respect of all legal residents of the country,”he said.

He also said the people of Cyprus have their limits and their dignity and that there were limits to the compromises.

The Greek Cypriot side, he said, was purusing peace and had proven this during the talks in Crans-Montana “when it boldly put forward proposals” to end the anachronistic guarantees, intervention rights and presence of the Turkish army.
