26-Year-old drunk driver involved in accident in Girne

A 26-year-old Turkish Cypriot has escaped death after he was involved in an accident along the Girne-Highway on Wednesday.

Mert Tekin, reportedly went out of the way and hit an advertising post.
 
According to police report, the accident happened at 7:30pm at Girne-Giresun Highway between 5 and 6 kms.

The report added that Mert Tekin was carelessly heading towards Girne under the influence of 154 ml of alcoholic drink when his car skid out of the road and hit an advertising post and then come to a halt.
 
Mert Tekin, who was slightly injured in the accident, was taken to the Girne Dr Akçiçek Hospita for treatment.
