Woman who killed Syrian student in an accident in Lefkosa tested for 262 promil of alcohol

A Laboratory test has confirmed that the 27-year-old Turkish Cypriot woman, Gizem Galipoğluları, who caused a traffic accident that resulted in the death of a Syrian student on Friday last week in Lefkosa, was high on about 262 promil alcohol.

The incident that occurred as a result of the accused disobeying traffic light also saw three other people injured. 

18-year-old Abdul Rahman Murad, died on the spot following the incident despite medical intervention.  

According to reports from several Turkish Cypriot dailies, test results obtained from the blood sample of the accused showed that she was had 262 promil alcohol.

Galipoğluları, who was arrested on charges of "causing injuries and carelessness resulting in the death of another", was paraded in a Lefkosa court on Monday.
