Several major roads to be closed to traffic on Sunday to mark TRNC Republic Day

Several major routes in Lefkosa and other districts in North Cyprus will be closed on Sunday October, 29 due to the Republic Day ceremony program. 

The organizers of the event has requested motorists to use alternate routes one hour before the ceremony starts.

Drivers are asked to park their vehicles on the specified routes to avoid blocking traffic flow, as well as to comply with traffic signs and markers, as ceremonial transits will be made in lefkosa and other districts.

According to a statement made by the General Directorate of Police, the first ceremony pass will start at Lefke Police Station and finish at the square in front of Asmalı Kahvehane.

At 10:00 am, the ceremony pass will start from the front of the İskele Municipality Building, the Dr. Arhan Müderrisoğlu Caddesi ve Şht through the direction of Davut Street and will be completed on the Pier square.

At Famagusta, the ceremony will start at 11:30 am in front of the new Lemar on the same street, starting from the watery circle through Ismet Inonu Bulvar.

The ceremony will start in Güzelyurt at 11.45 pm in front of Güzelyurt District Governorate. It will be completed in front of AKM on the street following Kurtuluş Caddesi-Ecevit Caddesi-Munur Dilaver Sokak-Ecevit Caddesi and Turgut Özal Caddesi direction.

At Girne, the ceremony will start at 15.00, before the Arkın Colony Hotel and Ramadan Cemil Square-Ziya Rızkı Caddesi-Turgut Tahsin Sokak-20 July Kordonboyu Caddesi and through the end of the Atatürk Monument.

The ceremony pass in Lefkosa will start at 3:00pm at Mehmet Akif Caddesi (Dereboyu), starting from the junction of the street known as Pronto Circle and completed in front of the Dereboyu Shopping Center on the same street.
