One dead, three injured in accident in Lefkosa

One person had died and three others were injured in an accident that occurred in Lefkosa on Friday evening. 

According to report, the accident occurred when a car driver ignored traffic light by not stopping for the red light.

The victim, Abdul Rahman, a 24-year-old Palestinian Syrian student in the island lost his life in the accident. The other two Maen Al Soboh, 20 and Rami Khaldoon Ragheb were seriously injured in the accident and were rushed to the Lefkosa State Hospital.

The 27 year old driver identified as Gizem Galipoğluları who caused the accident was also injured in the incident and was arrested by the police and will appear in court on Saturday.

According to police report, the accident happened at about 6:30 pm, along the Atatürk Street in Lefkosa, due to the carelessness of the diver.

She is said to have hit Maen Al Soboh, 20, Rami Khaldoon Ragheb and Abdul Rahman Murad, 24, who were walking past the road but unfortunately, Abdul Rahman Murad lost his life in spite of medical interventions.

The victims are all foreign nationals.
