Cristiano Ronaldo auctions one of his Ballon d'Or for £600,000
Portugal and Real Madrid Star Cristiano Ronaldo has auctioned one of his four Ballon d'Ors trophies for a whopping £600,000 at a charity auction.
The
incredible gesture was made by the Portugal captain with every penny
raised from the single replica going to the Make-A-Wish charity.
The good deed took place during a gala hosted by the
Make-A-Wish Foundation at London's Dorchester hotel last Sunday, with
Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes on hand to make the presentation. The trophy was bought by Israeli millionaire and
philanthropist Idan Ofer.
The
32-year-old specifically asked for the replica of his 2013 award to be
auctioned.
Ronaldo was not in attendance at the gala event in London, which was hosted by comedian and actor David Walliams, and also reportedly saw face-to-face meetings with Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho and Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola auctioned off.Réplica de Bola de Ouro de Ronaldo rende 600 mil euros https://t.co/yxMMt65bBN— Correio da Manhã (@cmjornal) October 3, 2017
