Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe refers to Trump as a “Goliath”
Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe during an address at the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly to other world leaders on Thursday September 21, called US president, Donald Trump a “giant gold Goliath.”
The speech, which covered the current development goals, and the ways by which they might be met, aroused ovations at different points.
He talked on global warming, and the mass movement of people fleeing wars and armed conflicts.
Referring to Trump as a “giant gold Goliath,” who threatens to make other countries “extinct, Mugabe, urged the U.S. leader to “blow your trumpet” in a way that promotes peace and the self-determination of countries.
Goliath was a giant warrior who, according to the Bible, threatened Israel with destruction until he was slain by David using a slingshot.
His remarks came two days after Trump’s own address to the UN, in which he strongly condemned a number of countries, including North Korea, Iran and Venezuela.
At 93, Mugabe is the world’s oldest head of state currently in office.

Some of us were embarrassed if not frightened by what appeared to be the return of the biblical giant gold Goliath. Are we having a return of Goliath to our midst who threatens the extinction of other countries?” said Mugabe.

May I say to the United States President, Mr. Trump, please blow your trumpet. Blow your trumpet in a musical way towards the values of unity, peace, cooperation, togetherness, dialogue, which we have always stood for,” said the Zimbabwe leader.
