Two Nigerians involved in an accident along the Lefkosia - Famagusta high way

Two Nigerian students in Cyprus sustained varying degrees of injuries when the vehicle they were driving in got involved in an accident along the old Lefkosia - Famagusta high way opposite the Unimar Market on Thursday.

Gabriel Onyebuchi and Emanuel Oddu, both 21 years of age were rushed to the Famagusta State Hospital by an ambulance, along with the driver of the vehicle they were driving in.

Gabriel was seriously wounded in the accident while Emanuel sustained slight wound.

From the report we gathered, all the accident victims were in good condition and have been discharged from hospital after being kept under observation for a while.

From our investigation, the car in which Gabriel and Emmanuel were driving in was hit by a car driven by a 30-year-old Turkish Cypriot identified as AyÅŸegül Ercan.

Ayşegül who was heading towards the Gazimağusa axis of the road from the old Nicosia highway came to the end of the road and tried to maneuvered an intersection when he collided with a vehicle coming in the opposite direction.

Both vehicles were seriously damaged in the process.

The spot where the accident happened is known to have witnessed series of accidents in the past.

We thank God no life was lost.

Authorities should please do something about that spot.
