Two men, a Turk and a Greek were arrested for smuggling drugs into North Cyprus

Two men, a Greek Cypriot and a Turkish Cypriot were last week arrested with a banned substance by the North Cyprus police team in charge of Narcotics and Smuggling Prevention Directorate as they attempted to smuggled the drug into the TRNC through the Metehan Land Crossing Gate.

The team moved into action after receiving a notice during the early hours of the previous day.
 
About half a gram of " methamphetamine" type substance, one of the worst synthetic drugs in the world, and a bottle with 11 cc of liquid substance in it, believed to be narcotic drugs was found under the driver's seat of the car used. 

The suspect identified as Pavlos Penegkaris, a Greek Cypriot and the driver of the vehicle identified as Cagın Kazımoğlu, a Turkish Cypriot confessed to the crime and were both arrested by the police.

The police, also searched the house of Cagın Kazımoğlu with a court order, and found a bottle with a liquid substance of 120 cc, which is also believed to be a drug.

According to report, dozens of young people have lost their lives because of the drug that is becoming increasingly widespread in recent years. 

Police said that the suspects had been taking the drug substance in Kazımoğlu's house on the same day, taking it back to the South and getting caught while they returned.

The suspects were detained in police custody for 2 days for investigation purposes.
