Tomato prices are expensive in North Cyprus, Citizens cries out

If you are observant, you would know the prices of food commodities like tomatoes, vegetables, onions and the rest are usually cheaper during summer in North Cyprus, but this summer happened to be different with prices remaining on the high side.

Citizens of the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus are not finding the change funny and have now voiced their displeasure to the authorities.

According to Turkish Cypriot daily, Havadis, 1kg of tomatoes is sold for 50 Kurus in Turkey but in TRNC, it is sold for 10Tl which citizens say they can’t afford.

They also criticized the Agriculture Minister for saying "there will be 180 tons of tomatoes from Turkey", but yet the prices are still high.

TRNC currently has 3 major tomatoes wholesalers.
