One On One with the president of the "League of Extraordinary Men"

Welcome to another edition of One on One on Olomoinfo Blog. Today we have the opportunity to meet and talk with the president of one of the biggest group/association in Cyprus. 

He will be telling us about the group and its mission.

Good to have you here with us sir.

-Please introduce yourself to us.

My name is Moses Farrell Luka the chairman of LEM

-You are the chairman of the group/party called LEM, can you please tell us what LEM means?

Yes I am the chairman of LEM which stands for "League of Extraordinary Men"

-What is the group/party about?

The party or group as you called it is a collection of intellectuals of diverse background who have come together to have a positive impact on the society.

-When was it formed?

The party was formed on the 4th of June 2014.

-What is the ideology of the group?

As I have said earlier the ideology of the party is to have a positive impact on the society politically, academically, socially and if possible spiritually.

-How big is the membership base?

For now we have about 24 members.

-What are the goals and objectives of the group?

The LEM club exist to provide exciting and unique opportunities for personal development, community building. It also strive to bring unique people from diverse background and to unite them under the common objectives of promoting academic, social, political, and economical excellence within its members and extending to the general public.

-You are a Nigerian so are other members of the group, is membership open to only Nigerians?

Yes am a Nigerian but the club is open to all.

-I’m well aware that there are so many influential people in the group, who are these VIPS?

Haha everyone in the club is a VIP but we have some influential persons like the president of NANS Turkish zone, President of the Nigerian Student Union (NSU-CIU), lecturers, researchers and lots more.

-Is the group limited to Cyprus?

The club is not limited to Cyprus we have people from different countries.

-Sometimes ago, the group/party presented some merit awards to some individuals, on what grounds was the award presented and what is the purpose of the awards?

Well it was award of appreciation which was giving to all that deserve it, and also been in the educational environment some of those awards giving were to motivate and promote hard working students.

-Like you said, the award is to help motivate and promote hard working students in the island, how do you hope to track their academic records?

Well tracking academic records of hardworking student is not really a problem. No matter were you hide a diamond it must surely shine bright. So we have our ways of tracking such students with honors.

-Also the group is into charity, how often does the group go out and give out gifts or support?

Well as you have seen, the club is still young in fact we just got our constitution but certainly part of our aim is to reach out to the needy at all times. We also restructured the club to have a better focus.

-What do you have to say to readers out there who might be interested in this group?

For anyone who is interested in this club, our doors are wide open but we have values that we must follow. If you have ideas and will like to collaborate with LEM I urge you to come and let’s join hands together in achieving every goal you have.
