North Cyprus police arrest man for breaking into a Guzelyurt grocery store
Desmond who was taken to court on Sunday, was detained for two days in police custody after he first appeared in court on Friday last week.
Presiding Judge, Zehra Yalkut BilgeƧ ordered that the defendant be remanded in dentition for one month until investigation is completed, noting that he would be on the run if granted bail.
According to police report, the suspect was arrested on charges of "opening the shop". The report added that the suspect was staying with a group of friends in the country with no legal status, which it described as a fugitive situation.
Police also said the suspect confessed to the crime during his detention.
