Near East University hosts Dr Suat Gunsel Basketball tournament

The Near East University, (NEU) has organised and is hosting, for the first time in the TRNC, the ‘Dr Suat Gunsel’ basketball tournament. 

The tournament which opened on Friday September 1 will end on Sunday September 17.

Women’s basketball teams from several countries, including Czech Republic, Spain, Belgium, Turkey and the TRNC will compete at the tournament.

The TRNC will be represented at the tournament by the Near East women’s basketball team.

Six elite teams of Euroleague and EuroCup Women including Near East University, Galatasaray, Hatay BŞB, CB Avenida, ZWZ USK Prague and Castors Braine were drawn into two groups. 

The groups are as follows:
Group A: Galatasaray, Hatay BŞB, and CB Avenida
Group B: Near East University, ZWZ USK Prague and Castors Braine

All matches are/will be held at RA 25 Sports Hall in TRNC on 14-15-16-17 September 2017.

The tournament matches will be open to the public and free of charge.
