Man arrested at Ercan airport with 3 grams of narcotic

A man was on Friday September 1 arrested at Ercan airport in North Cyprus while trying to enter the country with 3 grams of  herbaceous narcotic substance concealed in his underwear.

According to report, the suspect with the initials Y.G was caught by the reaction of a detector dog and was arraigned at the Nicosia Accident Court on Saturday. 

The accused told the presiding Judge Rauf Kürşad that this was his first time in Cyprus and did not know its laws.

You need to know the rules of the country you first came to, you have to be more careful, said the judge to the suspect.

According to police report, at 8:00pm on Friday, a search was carried out on the suspect following the reaction of a detective dog named Liz. 

Following the search, a transparent nylon containing a total of 3 grams of drugs in two separate white napkins was found on him.

The judge ordered that the suspect be remanded in police custody for three days on the grounds that if the suspect was released, he would be able to influence the investigation.

He was also ordered to undergo a doctor's supervision in a fully equipped hospital as investigation continue.
