Group to defend and shoulder defense cost for Cameroonian student

Cameroonian student, Kamden Chenteu Veronique, who was allegedly illegally employed and not paid by her employer in Famagusta, can now sighed with relief after the Revolutionary Workers' Unions Federation DEV-IS, of North Cyprus announced that it will shoulder her defense cost.

In a press release on Thursday, the union explained that;

In north Cyprus, foreigners are used for cheap labor which is created by lack of intermediaries, both in the "education" sector.

Kamedan Kamden Chenteu Veronique, is only one of thousands of students who are brought to the island, with the notion that Northern Cyprus is a member of the European Union and therefore both working and reading conditions are good.

They start to work with the eagerness to get money to pay tuition fees. For Veronique, she said she has been forced to reside on the island as a fugitive because she has been working for 4 months for her employer without being paid which in turn give rise to psychological trauma.

According to her, her boss says he has done her a favor by giving her food for four months.

Investigation carried out at the work place on the work records showed that there is no evidence that Veronique works! She is then sent to working prison and wants to be expelled from the country as a plaintiff with the patronage system.

She is just one of many others in similar situation in North Cyprus to appear on the newspapers.

As a result of the system, employers are strengthened, employees are lonely, enslaved and obedient.

Within the current system, employers, of course, see organizations as enemies, making organized life in the country impossible.

It is a sign of respect for humanity and labor, to say the same thing, to continue to say it, to put an end to the order of slavery, union organized life. And if this is not possible, it is the sectoral

Collective Labor Agreements.
In this context, it is not necessary for DEV-Ä°Åž to be a member of the province in the direction of the class point of view in order to gain the rights of labor and labor. Today, as always in the direction of power, until now, people have become enthusiastic and labor-savvy, and become enslaved and lonely as in the case of Veronique Kamden Chentue.

As it is argued, for the defense of the rights, the wages, the expectations of life, if it agrees with itself, it is compatible with our union principles.

Through Özgür Dayıoğlu we undertake to defend as DEV-İŞ on the basis of class solidarity.

We believe and defend the validity of these claims reflected in the press as hundreds of thousands of lives.
