Good news for Cameroonian student as she finally gets help
Cameroonian
student, Kamden Chenteu Veronique, who was arrested by her employer in
Famagusta last week just because she demanded that her salary be paid, and was
also facing deportation unless she registered with a university in the island
has finally found help.
Yesterday,
we brought a report that Veroniques needs financial assistance to help register
with a university in the island and pay her school fees in order to avoid
deportation. Read here.
The
good news now is that she has finally found help.
According
to her lawyer, Mr. Ramadan Sanivar who is defending her in court at no cost, a
company has promised to pay her school fees and also give her a part time job.
Veronique
was last week arrested and paraded in court by her employer in Famagusta
because she demanded that they pay her, her over three months salary. Following
her appearance in court, she was ordered to remain in detention while the
investigation into her claims that her boss treated her badly was
ongoing.
Following
the investigation, it was found that she was residing in the island illegally
and will be deported within two weeks if she failed to registered with a
university and pay her school fees.
Several
pleas were made on her behalf and today she has got the help she required and
now she can sigh with some relief.
