Cyprus Weather update - September begins on a high

September brings a sigh of relief from the very hot August weather condition in Cyprus but not until later in the month as the month gets off with a warm start, with above average temperatures predicted around the island despite isolated showers and storms expected in the mountain areas.

According to the Cyprus Meteorological Department, Friday’s temperatures would be only around average for this time of year, and would then gradually rise until Monday as inland temperatures at the start of next week is expected to reach 38°C.

Between Friday and Monday, maximum temperatures will increase by about a degree, with inland temperatures reaching a high of 38°C by the start of the new week.

The average maximum temperatures for the start of September are 35°C-36°C inland, 30°C-32°C on the coasts, and 26°C-27°C in the mountains.
 
Friday’s temperatures will be 35°C inland, 30°C-32°C on the coasts and 25°C in the mountains, said the report. 

Also isolated showers were anticipated in some inland and mountain areas with a higher likelihood of a storm.
