A 3-day "Disaster Management Certificate Training" held in CIU

3-day "Disaster Management Certificate Training" was organized by the TRNC Civil
Defense Organization in collaboration with the Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and
Cyprus International University (CIU) in CIU.
Awards were given to ITU TRNC Education Research Campus Rector Dr. Ercan Kahya, and CIU Rector Professor Dr. Halil Nadiri as well as ITU academicians and training speakers.
Over 100 participants from 53 institutions, organizations and ministries in the disaster management
system of TRNC took part in the training organized by CIU, at UZU Cevik Uraz Hall that started on Tuesday September 26, and ended on Thursday September 28.
Certificates were awarded to participants at the closing on Thursday afternoon.

President of the Civil Defense Organization , Erdoğan Çelebi who is one of the speaker at the event, said the training is only one step in
creating a society resistant to disasters.
Çelebi said that the disaster management required a total approach and stated "In disaster management, not only the institutions, but each individual has a role".
Çelebi noted that good management of disasters is everyone's role in good and timely manner and that success with harmony and cooperation can be achieved.
