Neymar reports Barcelona to FIFA
Neymar has dragged his former club, Barcelona to FIFA over an
unpaid renewal bonus as the fallout from his world-record transfer to
Paris Saint-Germain continues.
The Brazil international believes he is entitled to €26 million which Barca were due to pay him this summer as the second part of a bonus for the contract renewal he signed last October, reports ESPN FC.
The Catalan club however said they would not be paying the rest of the bonus after Neymar's move to PSG as the requirements of the contract had not been met.
Barca also went on to sue the Brazilian for €8.5m in damages plus 10 percent in arrears for breach of contract.
Neymar then responded by saying he would fight Barcelona's claim for compensation and FIFA has now confirmed he is also seeking payment for the second part of the renewal bonus.
