Barcelona terminate Neymar's contract, accept €222m fee as French President Emmanuel Macron gave his seal of approval to the transfer

Still on the Neyamr transfer saga, New reports say Barcelona have terminated the contract of the Brazilian super star, Neymar after it accepted a world-record fee of €222 million that activates his buyout clause, clearing the way for him to move to Paris Saint-Germain.

The deal had stalled earlier in the day when La Liga rejected the payment from Neymar's legal team, which forced them to travel to Barcelona to make the payment directly to the club.

Neymar is now expected to arrive in the French capital on Friday to put pen to paper on a reported five-year deal with PSG worth €30m annually after tax, reports ESPN FC.

When and if PSG confirms the signing, Neymar's will become the most expensive transfer ever -- more than doubling the fee of €105m which Manchester United's paid to sign Paul Pogba from Juventus last year.

However, despite the transfer set to go through soon, Barca say they will send details of the transfer to UEFA to ensure the French club are adhering to financial fair play regulations.

On Thursday afternoon, Neymar Jr's legal representatives visited in person the club's offices and made the payment of €222m in the player's name with regards to the unilateral termination of the contract that united both parties, a Barcelona statement said.
As such, the club will pass on to UEFA the details of the above operation so that they can determine the disciplinary responsibilities that may arise from this case.

Meanwhile another report emerging from France say French President Emmanuel Macron today gave his seal of approval to Neymar's transfer from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain.

It adds attractiveness. Yes, it's good news, Macron told journalists as he visited a holiday centre for children outside Paris.

Macron also congratulated Qatari-owned PSG's chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who was attending the same event.

Congratulations, I believe there has been good news, the president told him, referring to Neymar's expected arrival.
