Barcelona confirm Neymar wants to leave, as Lionel Messi bids farewell

Barcelona have confirmed that Brazilian forward Neymar who is a target for Paris Saint-Germain intends to leave the club but insisted that his €222 million buyout clause must be paid in full.

Neymar, flew back to Catalonia on Tuesday after a promotional trip to China, and was excused from training on Wednesday upon his request.

According to a report by ESPN FC, the player came to training on Wednesday to say goodbye to his teammates to say goodbye.

The club later released a statement, which read:

The player Neymar Jr, accompanied by his father and agent, has informed FC Barcelona this morning of his decision to leave the Club in a meeting held at the Club's offices.

Faced with this position, the Club has informed them they refer to the buy-out clause of his existing contract which as of 1 July totals 222 million euros which will have to be deposited in its entirety.

The statement continued:

The player remains under contract at FC Barcelona but with temporary permission to not take part in training sessions.

Mean his teammate,Lionel Messi has bid farewell to Neymar after the club confirmed that the Brazil star has told the club of his desire to move to Paris Saint-Germain.

It was an enormous pleasure to have shared these years with you Neymar, friend. I wish you a lot of luck in the next stage of your life. See you, Messi wrote on Instagram.

He ended the message with "TKM," short for "te quiero mucho" or "love you a lot."

Neymar responded by writing: "Thank you brother... I'll miss you mate!"

Neymar joined Barca in 2013, A long side Messi and Luis Suarez, they formed the formidable "MSN" attack, leading Barca to a Treble in 2015 and scoring 364 goals between them across three seasons.
